With a special permit in place from the town council for its stage, the Lani Kai Island Resort is in full spring break mode with the Cincinnati firemen variety show leading the way daily through March 19 (excluding March 11 and March 16), the resort announced.

The Cincinnati firemen and EMTs will be singing and dancing - all while raising funds for charitable, nonprofit organizations, including the ARABA Shriners.

The all-ages variety show will feature choreographed moves for popular songs such as Michael Jackson's "Thriller," The Righteous Brothers' "You've Lost that Loving Feeling" and the Village People's "Macho Man" and "YMCA." There is no charge to attend the shows

The main beneficiary of the fun will be the ARABA Shriners, a nonprofit group dedicated to aiding ailing children by providing transportation to and from their hospital treatments, and helping with their medical bills.

So far, in the 10 years the firefighters have performed at Lani Kai, they have raised more than $130,000 for local nonprofit charity organizations, according to Lani Kai Island Resort Marketing Director Melissa Schneider.
