The Beach Theater is all digital. What surprises people the most , is its dine-in experience.

"Once our customers walk through the front door they get the feeling that this was not the movie theater experience that they are accustomed to, - they see bottled beer and beer on tap, a selection of delicious mixed drinks, the aroma of freshly-made-to-order food, and fresh popped popcorn," Mausser said. "There are no long lines to wait for snacks or dinner; once our guests arrive they purchase a movie ticket and find a seat in the cinema at a table or counter top with comfy leaning chairs on wheels."

After patrons sit down, they will receive full service.

The wait staff is committed and well trained to provide restaurant quality service during the show.

"They are like ninjas as our customers rarely find them interrupting the film," Mausser said. "By the end of the experience people make us their new 'go-to movie theater' and every family, couple, or individual leaves with a smile."

Top foodie favs include fresh-cut never-frozen French fries, chicken parma sandwich, Claim to Fame burgers as well as specialty mixed drinks, coconut oil popcorn and turtle ice cream sundaes.

"We make and sell very delicious mixed drinks and have different specials all the time. We have a variety of homemade foods, and our menu is thoughtful and extensive," Mausser said. "Our kitchen is super clean and our cooks love their jobs here and have been with us for many years."

The Beach Theater has been on Forth Myers Beach since 1999 and has always been a dinner movie theater. Originally, Nick Campo started the Marco Island Movie Theater "Marco Movies" with the dinner idea and claims to be one of America's very first Food Run Theaters. They expanded over to Fort Myers Beach with the Beach Theater and ran identical business models.

In 2010, after Gulf Oil spill, a few investors backed out and Nick had to close the doors.

"The savior was Sorin Lupu who owns the condo The Gulf View Manor across the street," Mausser said. "He bought the business and reopened the doors in 2012, then we upgraded from film to digital with Dolby surround sound and Sorin and Nick still work as a team to run Beach Theater now."

What has changed for the theater in the last years? "One of the best changes is the Movie Pass, not just for our movie theater but nationally. It is a smart phone app where you pay them $10-$15 dollars a month and then you can watch free movies all month long," Mausser said. "It's really worth checking out, it helps us bring people in and it makes coming here that much more affordable."

They also recently upgraded their Closed Captioning Devices so people who are hard of hearing have personalized screens displaying words to read along while watching the movie.

"We have upgraded our assisted listening devices they boost the volume to your personal standards," Mausser said. "We also have a system that provides descriptive audio which accommodates people who have poor to no vision, which is on a headset like ear phones, as a voice in the background describes the visuals on the screen."

Louie grew up on Fort Myers Beach and has been at the theater for 13 Years.

"Forth Myers Beach is a beautiful island with great people and we try to keep our customers on a first-name basis," Mausser said. "We love when people come in here and put the phones away to enjoy company and awesome new movies. We strive to stay busy all year to keep our local economy alive, so we want our customers to come back and make Beach Theater their first-choice movie theater."

And it's a great place to beat the heat.

"I really enjoy seeing repeat semi local customers from Cape Coral or Lehigh or Bonita or Naples or Miami or any off-Island folks traveling the distance to make a date night or family outing or just enjoying the 'escape' Dory voice (Finding Nemo)," Mausser said. "I love when people come from a distance to enjoy our gem of a movie theater; it really is a perfect must-visit theater. Don't get me wrong, I also love our island community customers as well, they really love this place themselves, they keep us around for sure. It's a great place for everyone and we just keep getting better and better as the time goes by."

Beach Theater is at 6425 Estero Blvd on Fort Myers Beach.
