Chamber tees up big fun with annual ‘Mini’ Masters Golf Tournament April 19

The Masters in Augusta, Georgia might be over, but the golfing fun on Fort Myers Beach is just about ready to tee up. The ever-popular 'Mini' Masters Golf Tournament takes place Thursday, April 19, at Jungle Golf and Pinchers Crab Shack. Check-in time at Pinchers is 3 p.m. and the first tee time at Jungle Golf is at 4 p.m. Jungle Golf is at 17710 San Carlos Blvd. and Pinchers is at 18100 San Carlos Blvd.

"The Mini Masters is a great way to de-stress and catch up with your friends and business associates after a hectic and busy season," said Jacki Liszak, president of the Fort Myers Beach Chamber of Commerce. "It is something that the chamber and the community look forward to each year, and we welcome locals and visitors to join us."

Here's the scoop. After you check in at Pinchers, you and your team with will be transported to Jungle Golf and back to Pinchers by Majestic Transportation.

"Jungle Golf and Pinchers have been hosting us for the last few years and they are great partners," Liszak said. "They make sure everyone has a great time."

Space is limited to only 18 teams with five players each, so get your registration in early. Cost is $150 per team and the much-anticipated after party will be held at Pinchers. Trophies will be awarded for the winning team, and lowest individual score. You may channel Ricky Fowler or Happy Gilmore or Arnold Palmer for your golf attire inspiration. Whatever outfit you wear, get ready for lots of laughs plus award presentations, prizes, raffles, and yes, even mulligans.

The staff at the iconic Jungle Golf always has the course ready with surprises for this popular tournament. It has been voted Best of the Beach and has Ratings of Excellence by TripAdvisor. Jungle Golf was founded by Archimedes Q Porter while searching for the fabled lost treasure of the Solomon Mines. So you can find yourself immersed in the legend of Tarzan and the discovery of lots of interesting animals while trying to master your mini golf game. Don't get your feet wet crossing the lagoon and stream and waterfalls, in search of your hole-in-one or that perfect score.

This event is open to the public and anyone can enter a team.

"The event is primarily directed to adults, businesses, and residents, however visitors can join in as well with a cash bar and complimentary appetizers from Pinchers," Liszak said. "What surprises most folks is how quickly the event goes by because you're having such a great time."

To register you can either pay online or submit payment with your application. You are also welcome to watch the fun as part of the gallery for $5 and enjoy the free appetizers and cash bar at Pinchers.

If you want to play but don't have enough people for a whole team, call Liszak and the Chamber will find you a spot.

If you own a local business and want to sponsor a team, the Chamber welcomes you to choose among Eagle Sponsor, Birdie Sponsor, Par Sponsor, Hole Sponsor, Tee Sponsor, or, Tee and Banner Sponsor.

Be sure to check out all perks you will receive with your sponsorship. The sponsorships can start at $50 with the premium cost at $1,000, lots of price ranges to choose from.
