Lee County Sheriff's Office investigating racist graffiti

May 19, 2017
Fort Myers Beach Bulletin, Fort Myers Beach Observer

The Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers put the word out yesterday for help in tracking down a person or group of people responsible for racist graffiti in Bonita Springs.

On Monday, residents alerted authorities to racial symbols and messaged painted on Bonita Springs Middle School, Spring Creek Elementary and the City of Bonita dog park and community pool. According to a press release, the graffiti - including a swastika and the phrase "white power" - were most likely painted Sunday night or before dawn Monday. Detectives suspect the same person or group is responsible for all four incidents, but there are currently no witnesses.

Anyone who might have any information to help can call anonymously at 1-800-8477 or submit an online tip www.southwestfloridacrimestoppers.com.
