Classic car owners and all those interested in the beautiful hobby are cordially invited to participate in this year's casual "show-off" Classic Car Cruise-In and Snowbird Celebration, a fifth annual event taking place at Santini Marina Plaza, 7225 Estero Blvd., Saturday, April 2, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Stroll in, cruise in, speed in (maybe not that fast) to this classic event that attracts thousands to the south end of the island annual, and enjoy perusing the many beautiful vehicles that will be on display that day. One may see anything from Corvettes and Mustangs to classic Pontiacs and Buicks, and a menagerie of other amazing pieces of classic metal.

Celebrity judges will vote on three divisions:?Corvette, Classic and Antique, with registration at 9 a.m., the cruise-in beginning at 10 a.m., and awards ceremony at 11:30 a.m.

"You will see all types of beautiful, classic cars from many eras, and we will have our Santini Fresh Market open all day, offering the freshest in fruits and vegetables, home-baked breads, fresh-squeezed orange juice and much more, so this will be a one-stop-shop type of day at Santini Plaza," said Bonnie Roberts, organizer of the event.

Also swing by 40-plus artisan vendors set up at the plaza that day, offering handmade, homemade, homegrown products, featuring Bonez BBQ, Uncle Dan's kettle corn and lemonade, Honey from the Hood, fresh breads, jellies, olives, hand-carve exotic woods, original watercolors, local photography, hand-made jewelry, chalk paint, fresh seafood, Moringa Tea, local flora, fresh pasta and sauces, and much more.

"Skye's Restaurant will be providing bloody marys, margaritas, beer and wine on-site, as well as their fabulous seafood Mexican wraps and chorizo," Bonnie said. "Truly Scrumptious is offering the best in sweets and desserts, as well as their award-winning lobster roll, and Francesco's will be offering the most incredible garlic rolls and deli, divine Italian baked goods, fresh mozzarella and delicious meatball subs."

A live and local DJ will be spinning car-cruise tunes all day with snowbirds dancing in the street.
